The open letter initiative really is just a starting point. To foster an innovation friendly environment amongst EU politicians requires a fundamental mind shift with regard to the role of high technologies in the context of geo political power dynamics and societal progress.
As a community we have to continuously engage with policymakers, the media and the broader public to communicate our visions of the future more eloquently.
Therefore, we are considering to initiate an open source research and advocacy body. Such body could be organized as a not-for-profit foundation and be 100% donations financed. It could be maximally transparent with regard to its activities and financing. It could open source all of its educational work to broader broader public and provide an authentic voice for the european civil society. A Coincenter for Europe.
To initiate such an organization we’d need (1) mission driven talent for policy making and media (2) capital and (3) community buy in. We believe that (2) and (3) can be achieved easily but we need support for (1). Please reach out if you’re interested in joining such an initiative or know someone who might be a great fit.
Onwards & upwards,
